National Trust - Arlington Court
The property is an unexpected jewel on the edge of Exmoor, a complete family estate held by the Chichester family for over five hundred years. The collection consists of treasures for all tastes, from model ships to shells, collected over several generations. They are delighted for the opportunity in joining us and will be bringing Rosalie Chichester’s photographs of Ilfracombe and any other archives that they feel appropriate.
Ilfracombe Museum
An incredible museum stocked to the rafters with extraordinary curios and fabulous family archives, newspapers from the 19th & 20th centuries, thousands of postcards and peculiarities like elephant feet and Inca jewellery. They will be exhibiting for the 2 days bringing along curiosities from wedding dresses to Red Cross uniforms photographs and their expertise and knowledge.
Magenta Fine Art Gallery
Award-winning independent gallery, bringing vibrant contemporary art to the North Devon coast.
The Gallery are kindly sponsoring a competition for the students at Ilfracombe Academy to decorate 12” artist mannequins, all entries will be displayed at the exhibition and the winner will be exhibited in the gallery at 19 St James Place.
Ilfracombe Academy
THE ILFRACOMBE ACADEMY ART DEPARTMENT- will be joining us and showcasing some of their student’s art and photography course work.
We have also donated two life size mannequins to the department - the challenge to let their creative juices flow transforming them into pieces of art through decoration.
Ilfracombe Library
With arguably the best view of any library in the country and just a short walk from both the High Street and Seafront it is an ideal source for inspiration. Their display will bring local History, Fashion and Craft to the event.
